Our Founder, Dr. Audrieanna Burgin
Dr. Audrieanna Burgin is an economist whose career has been shaped by a commitment to understanding the factors that influence opportunity and economic progress. Her work brings together research and strategic thinking to help organizations better understand the challenges they face and the possibilities ahead. She believes that meaningful impact begins with asking thoughtful questions and taking the time to understand what the evidence reveals.
Throughout her career, Dr. Burgin has led research and strategic initiatives across higher education and the nonprofit sector. Her experience includes examining the economic impact of investments and evaluating organizational initiatives to better understand their outcomes. She has worked alongside institutional leaders to translate research findings into practical strategies that inform decisions and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
Her experience extends beyond research into executive leadership and funding strategy. Having worked closely with organizations navigating complex challenges, she understands the importance of connecting analytical findings to institutional priorities. She has helped secure more than $10 million in grants and endowments for higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations, supporting initiatives designed to expand opportunity and strengthen long-term impact.
Dr. Burgin earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Florida State University, where her research examined educational attainment and labor outcomes. She also holds a Master of Science in Economics and dual Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Economics and Management. An experienced economics educator, she makes complex concepts accessible and connects research to the questions people and organizations are working to answer.
Her professional contributions extend into civic leadership and service. Dr. Burgin is a Hightower Fellow (Class of 2023) and was appointed to the Hightower Fellowship Board of Directors in 2025. The Jacksonville Business Journal recognized her as a Top 40 Under 40 honoree, and Florida Black Excellence named her a Top 20 Under 40 recipient in 2024. That same year, she was appointed to Mayor Donna Deegan's African American Advisory Council. She also serves on the boards of Ascension St. Vincent's Foundation and the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida.
Dr. Burgin founded Good Measure Company to bring the depth of her experience in research and strategy to organizations seeking greater clarity about their work and its impact. The firm reflects her belief in the value of thoughtful inquiry and the importance of using evidence to understand what is happening and inform what comes next.
